Based on the materials of the genetic study of the Kabardian horse breed

According to the results of a large-scale, comprehensive study of the Kabardian horse genome, conducted under the leadership of the Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany), using the latest technologies in molecular genetics and original software and hardware complexes for monitoring horse training parameters:

  1. A genetic passport (profile) of the Kabardian horse breed was compiled based on the results of microsatellite DNA analysis of the breeding nucleus.
  2. A population-genetic analysis was conducted using a standard and extended set of genetic markers to assess biological diversity in the population, authenticity of origin, the degree of differentiation of intra-breed male lines and mare families, etc.
  3. An original software shell, “Kabardian Horse Base,” was developed to create and manage the Database of zootechnical and genetic data of the Kabardian horse breed’s breeding nucleus.
  4. A genome-wide association study (GWAS) was conducted for the Kabardian horse genome using new-generation genetic biochips (Equine SNP 70 BeadChip).
  5. Sequencing of mitochondrial DNA was performed to reveal the evolutionary history, phylogenetic relationships, and to describe the inter-breed and intra-breed differentiation of Kabardian horses.

‼️ SUMMARY: The Kabardian horse breed (contrary to existing versions of its descent from other breeds, such as the Arabian) is a completely independent breed.
