L’epshch / Tlepsh

The Narts had highly developed crafts. In those distant times, all knowledge and crafts, including knowledge of metalworking, were considered magic, and magicians had great respect and honor in the Nart society.
A blacksmith named Tlepsh was a renowned master among the Narts. He forged magical swords, made sickles and scythes, and was not only a connoisseur of metal but also a healer — he put a metal patch on the battle-pierced head of the Nart Chileten.
It is Tlepsh who breaks the stone brought by the wise Sataney-guasha, and from it is born the main hero of the epic — Sausyryko — a hero with an iron body.
